Day 147
Marmoles
We were on the road by 8am, we were hoping to do some decent miles. We found a way past the next section of old railway line and cycled through the small village of Gor, naturally uphill! Then we had a decision, should we try the line again? Bravely or foolishly we choose the line! We were pretty much in luck for the rest of the day as we rode mile after mile on a decent surface. We popped out at Baza and bought lunch listening to the incredibly annoying music of the knife sharpening van. Back on the bikes we started to come across bridges that had not been made safe, most of the time there was an obvious way around but sometimes it was a difficult job with quite a bit of hiking with the bikes. I made it clear to Tom there was absolutely no way I was prepared to take a chance and cross any of these closed damaged bridges. By 6pm we had manage to cover just over 55 miles. Then we appeared to be stuck as again the line looked lined with ballast. We were next to an old marble quarry so we decided this would do for our home for the night. Finding a way onwards could wait until tomorrow.
