Day 175
Warm up lap complete
Well it's finally here. Today we leave Spain. We feel blessed to have been able to spend two months in this beautiful country. We didn't really plan, we just explored. We had fantastic quiet roads (well nearly always), views that stunned us, virtually perfect weather (well except for the last few days!). We hadn't expected quite as much snow and as for hurricanes, no!
We stayed with a few wonderful Warmshowers hosts. All so welcoming, we felt blessed to be able to gain an insight to Spanish family life and to benefit from their local knowledge, seeing things we would never have done without their advice and changing our route. We had some many awesome wildcamps.
The ‘Power of Pam’ is fast becoming a tradition. We have managed to meet up twice so far on our journey and it is looking as if our trip and her and David's holidays over the next few years will ensure we continue to coincide! Vancouver Island next Pam!
Our fabulous family friends, Niall, Suna and Ula were happy to have us stay. They were so welcoming and spoilt us, and our buddy Stephane, something rotten.
We had met many touring cyclists on our trip, and we were lucky to meet Stephane when the fickle finger of fate pointed us his way. He joined us for a few days, and it was fantastic to share our trip with him. He was happy to change his route (and speed) and ride along with us. We had some fantastic adventures whilst riding with him. We hope he will join us again somewhere on the road in the future.
Today though we head back home to the UK to get some visas, some jabs, a new bike, celebrate Christmas, and head off again. We are sad to leave, but excited about what comes next...
…which for poor Debs was sea sickness…
