Day 280

Blogtastic

Being on the road can be quite a lonely experience. We have each other, messages from home, spend time with Warmshowers hosts who become dear friends, but then we leave and they are gone. Through our blog though we are gradually making new friends. We have a small group of people who are becoming increasingly precious to us. They follow our adventures, post frequent comments, send messages of encouragement, check we’re doing OK. Some we knew slightly from home, a few are our Warmshowers hosts, but others we’ve never met.

Today though we had the chance to meet a couple of our debsandtom gang. Mark and Judy, (Yehudit) have followed us pretty much from Day 1. So, when we realized we would be cycling near them it was with great excitement we took up their offer to host us. Being experienced tourers themselves they knew exactly what we needed and they provided it in spades! It goes without saying that as well as food, washing, bed, showers, etc., we now have Tom’s pedals replaced. Mark had even offered to drive many miles to collect us when we had our day of punctures. I think the bit I enjoyed the best though was giggling like a teenager with Judy as we chatted about life on the road. Cyclists are wonderful folk. Thanks you two. We really hope to see you again one day.
