Day 3

A good clear out

After only 2 days on the road we were learning. I spent the morning clearing out my bags and donating excess items to my sister-in-law. 2lbs of almonds included!! What was I thinking!

Bags repacked, weight better distributed, hugs and goodbyes and we were off.

A sublime English day, sunshine and a gentle breeze behind us. Quiet roads and paths took us to Louth. We spent an hour at the church, chatting to the Yorkshire-born vicar, and met the local loved character, Granny Margaret. On a normal working day we wouldn’t have lingered but now we could, so we did!

From here we went to our first Warmshowers host, Jane. She welcomed us with a cuppa then a fabulous meal. She was full of advice and sensible suggestions. We made plans to keep in touch as she was due to set off on her own tour in a couple of days.

Another blissful sleep... we were rested and ready for the next day!
