Day 418
And so to paradise
Tom being Tom managed to create a cycle route on backroads and the coastal road to our next campsite, First Nation at Qualicum Bay. This felt more like it. Gently down hill, past homes and farms. We bought freshly laid eggs and recently dug potatoes from a farm shop. The sun shone, but not too hot this was fun.
At the campsite not only did they have room for us, but we could have a pitch by the sea, looking across the water to the Sunshine Coast. There were even showers and a shop selling my now favourite drink ‘Canada Dry’ well when in Canada!
Not since Connemara have we camped at such a beautiful spot. The sun as it rises and sets turns the landscape into something so beautiful it’s hard to believe it’s real. Whales, seals and dolphins entertain us, geese practice flying in formation, and we even have a bald eagle nesting nearby. We booked for 2 nights then added 2 more. I expect we will leave, but just not yet!
