Day 450
Pacific City
We had spent the night at Cape Lookout, the views as the sun set were awesome. Leaving we had a purple Komoot hill and we were feeling nervous but we blasted up it! Didn’t even need the easy gear, hey we’re getting fit. The views were stunning, I think we were inspired! Tom had a puncture, our first in quite a while, but soon sorted. Along the way Tom suggested a tiny diversion to a beach, I was reluctant, I mean how many beaches do I need to see? Oh, but I was so glad I went, hard to explain but it was such an emotional experience, endless beach, it just went on for miles. There was a little bit of haze over the sea, but that simply made it more magical. It felt like the end of the world.
We had plans to ride to Beverly Beach State Park to our next hiker-biker spot but when we arrived at Pacific City the stunning beach pulled us towards it. The coast line was dotted with large rocks and the biggest sand dune we have seen since the Dunes de Pilat in France. Webb campsite offered a spot for 20 dollars so we decided to stay. After a restful afternoon doing little, apart from watching the 50 plus bunnies that live there, we went to the pub, and sat watching the sun set, we weren’t alone, all along the beach people stood awed by this beautiful spot!
