Day 65
Quicksilver Moai
We missed our chance to pop up and get more water etc. from Angela, doh! Time flies.
We carried on with the Glinsk cycleway but decided against adding in Rossport loop, and we decided to ride the ‘Pullathomas’ loop instead. I mean with a name like that how could we not, and rather lovely it was too, coastal views all the way and as usual very few cars.
We popped into a shop at Barnatra, and were greeted by Mark and Sue. We sat and chatted for a while before heading off in slightly different routes. They we heading to Belmullet and beyond to do some bird watching and maybe see a reclusive Corncrake, we were off to Bangor! The ride was completely flat with mountains all around. We pushed on, over 50 miles until we found our camp spot. A tiny beach at the end of a narrow road. Again, the locals were so welcoming. Encouraging us to swim, and rather wonderful it was! We chatted late into the evening with Erin and Danny. Erin’s grandparents and family had lived in the road and she was revisiting childhood haunts. She was full of useful information and encouraged us to visit Achill Island tomorrow.
Tom and I then sat and watched the sun set... I think this camp spot is definitely up there in the top 3! Carlsberg working it’s magic? No, I think it’s the magic of Ireland!
