Day 46
The best of Birkenhead
We thought it was about time for a new flag as the Yorkshire Rose was a bit battered, and we weren’t sure how it would go down in Northern Ireland. People we meet are always asking if we have a blog or YouTube so we thought we’d make a flag with it on. A trip to Birkenhead Market and within an hour three kind stall owners had sorted us out - Billy Hill gave us a piece of fabric, Just Sew stitched it together, and Image printed the letters on. A quick coffee at Smiths (we resisted the Beef Oxo for £1, but love that) and some marker pens and we’re sorted. Shame I didn’t get my dad’s artistic talents. Scouse pie for tea too! Cracking market and sound people. A deep contrast with some of the affluent countryside we’ve seen over recent weeks. Tomorrow we go ‘overseas’, and there’s a storm coming!
