Day 561
Hola 2023
Hi! I’m the guest writer today, Jed (Debbie’s nephew).
On my adventures in Mexico, I have drunk lots of Coke, been hiking, kayaking, whale watching, partying, exploring and have drunk yet more Coke. Late on New Year’s Eve, we went down to the Malecon to watch the fireworks to start the new year with a bang (excuse the pun)! We settled on the pier to get the best views of them. As soon as midnight struck, the first fireworks began - I didn’t know which way to look, both sides of the beach alive with the dancing colours that painted the sky like an artist on steroids.
The streets on the way back were, lively, to say the least. Hundreds of people had gathered, singing raucously along with the music. Aunty Debbie even got swept up into the crowd at one point, but after emerging, blushing, she resumed her energetic dancing. We then made our way home to get some much-needed rest, still in awe of the magnificent fireworks.
Now there is only one more day until we go home, back to physics, biology, history, computer science and maths tests!
