Day 97
The real Tom Tom
Nathalie had got up early to ensure we got our daily fix of baguettes, croissants and pain aux raisins - viennoiseries. When in France! Thank you Nathalie!
We needed every calorie, we had over 50 miles and some serious hills to ride. We passed through more enchanting villages and endless fields of sweetcorn, beautiful but where were the vines we wondered? We passed a chateau being invaded by giant ants. We skirted the town of Chateaubriant, but we are not keen on cycling through bigger towns, so pushed on by.
The miles slowly passed and finally, tired and thirsty we arrived at the home of Jean-Marc and Gilberte. They have cycled toured a lot so were more than happy to host us fellow tourers. The sun shone, so we spent some time sat in their beautiful garden followed by another wonderful home cooked meal. We ate too much, second portions of everything! We spent the rest of the evening studying their collection of photos from their cycle trips. Tom added a few more countries we simply must visit to his list!
