Day 242
Workstay
With our US Visas in the bag and the Chinese Embassy still closed to visa applications, all we are waiting for now is our third rabies jab on 22 February. So we booked flights for 9am on 23 February. Florida here we come! Gutted about having to fly rather than sail.
Whilst waiting, we helped repay the kindness of Debs’ sisters accommodating us by redecorating Liz and Jed’s kitchen. As always, once stripped down a multitude of sins were exposed, requiring a bag of plaster and an electrician. After an intense week the job is done, the clients are very happy, and all we have to worry about now is packing the bikes and bags. We are using plastic bags for the bikes rather than cardboard boxes as the general consensus is that damage is less likely this way. Counter-intuitive perhaps, but we’re giving it a go.
To keep ‘The Line’ going continuously we had a little ride out to Heathrow. London has some great cycleways but once you get near to the airport it seems not many people cycle to the airport! And the noise of the planes…crazy.
We are super excited to be getting back on the bikes and spending around two years cycling further from home with every pedal stroke. Ushuaia you are our next big plane/boat requirement. In around two years’ time!
